Dr. Surinder Singh is an accomplished academician and healthcare leader with over 40 years of experience in academia, research, and regulatory affairs. He holds an MBBS and an MD in Microbiology and has served in several prestigious roles, including as the Vice Chancellor of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru, and as the Drugs Controller General of India.
A globally recognized expert, Dr. Singh has contributed significantly to public health, pharmaceutical regulation, and academic leadership. Under his guidance, JSS AHER achieved numerous milestones, including securing a top 25 position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and being ranked World No. 1 in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health & Well-Being) in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024. His leadership has resulted in a surge in research output, securing over Rs. 55 crores in research grants, and fostering international collaborations across 58 countries.
Dr. Singh has been instrumental in shaping national programs such as the Pharmacovigilance and Haemovigilance Programmes and has been recognized globally for his regulatory expertise. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the "Pharma Ratna Universe 2023" Lifetime Achievement Award and has been named one of the "Top 20 Eminent Vice Chancellors of India" in 2020.
